The Wedding Dresser is a Collective of Brooklyn based fashion and costume pros who alter our dresses and build our accessories to support their own design work. We are also a Design Incubator giving Bridal Design, Evening Wear and Couture Techniques students real world hands on sewing experience. We partner with the Fashion Institute of Technology to offer for-credit internships for students in design, marketing, and couture techniques.


SCHUYLER  GRANT (Dyker Heights) Fitter/Production Manager

Schuyler is a graduate of FIT in Bridal, Evening Wear and Couture Techniques. Schuyler started with us as an intern.  He now fits and styles our Brides. Schuyler also makes patterns for our wedding gown customizations and accessories. His amazing fashion sketches are featured in our upcoming video series. Schuyler can sketch . you in your gown as a keepsake

MARISA THOMPSON ( Downtown) Designer/Bridal Goddess

Marisa is a graduate of FIT Bridal and Special Occasion. She is the Lead Designer and Production Manager for Jaclyn Jordan Bridal. Marisa also designs garments and embroidery for textile artist Jenny Hellman. She previously interned at Oscar de la Renta.

NANCY GIALLOMBARDO ( Midwood) Designer/Dressmaker

Nancy designs  a line of dresses and sportswear that is sold at local boutiques including Otto in Park Slope.  She also makes patterns and first samples for other fashion companies and custom dresses

STACIE HOULKER (Long Island City) Stylist/Creative Consultant

Stacie Houlker is a freelance fashion stylist specializing in bridal.  She  is known for her elegant and sophisticated style. Her work spans bridal styling,  commercials, print advertising, celebrity styling, and fashion editorial. Jarithza is a recent graduate of the fashion program at Louisiana State with a concentration in evening wear where she interned at Vera Wang. She is back in NYC pursuing a career as a Bridal designer.

Sandra Stromswold (Midtown) FIT Intern

Sandra is a second year student at The Fashion Institute of Technology pursuing a degree in Fashion Design

AVELLINO ALFRED (Prospect Lefferts Garden) Dressmaker/Tailor

Avellino splits his time between altering our dresses and working as the on site tailor for Brooks Brothers fitting models for their print and TV advertising. Avellino also makes custom suits and dresses at his studio Avellino Tailoring. See his work on Instagram @TailoredbyAvellino

GUILLERMO IRIAS (Gowanus) Designer/ Dressmaker

CLIVE WILLIAMS ( Bed Stuy ) Fitting Assistant

Clive is a graduate of the Art Institute of Technology and currently attends FIT. He is working on creating a sustainable womenswear label. His avocation is being a drag visual artist and burlesque performer. He aspires to being the next Leigh Bowery

TRESSA BELFONTE (Prospect Lefferts Garden)  Office Goddess

Tressa is the face who will greet you and the person who keeps our business running. She previously worked at a Computer/Coffee Bar where she taught herself to repair computers. She also has 3 amazing children

SUSAN RUDDIE SPRING ( FLATBUSH) President: The Wedding Dresser Inc. CDO: Susan Spring Accessories

Susan has worked in Bridal for 15 years as a Bridal Stylist and Designer at Susan Spring - The Wedding Dresser. Her accessories are sold internationally and she is the house line at Panache New York. Susan has worked in Bridal for 10 years designing custom dresses and accessories, as a manager and buyer at , in sales, and in the fitting department at the infamous Kleinfeld.

The prior 25 years Susan worked as a costume designer, costume director, and textile artist. Susan's designs have toured the world with The Mark Morris Dance Group. Recent work includes the 25th anniversary tour of Evita directed by Hal Prince, national tours of Fiddler in the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat starring Patrick Cassidy and The Sound of Music which toured mainland China. She ran the workrooms of Grace Costumes and Eric Winterling Costumes where she supervised costumed construction for Little Mermaid, Wicked,  Mamma Mia the Movie , The Radio City Rockettes and Ringling Bros. Circus. As an associate designer Susan worked on Broadway, ballet and opera including ABT and The Met.

Susan launched her first accessories line under the label Susee Human. Her hats and hair accessories were featured in Elle, on the cover of WWD, and on the runway for Patricia Underwood, Marc Jacobs, Williwear and Isaac Mizrahi. Pieces from her new collection Accessories by The Wedding Dresser have been featured in The Knot, Brides Magazine, and on numerous blogs including Style Me Pretty.

SABINA USKENOVA (Downtown) Fitting/Design Intern

Sabina first studied at the Khazak University of Business. She then moved to Milan where she studied fashion design at the Instituta Manangoni.  She moved to New York to start her own line in the world's fashion capital. She designs beautiful dresses under her label So You Dare.  Watch for her store coming soon on

ELAINE LIM KAWSEK (Downtown) Fitting/Alterations Intern

Elaine majored in Clothing  Technology from the University of Philippine. She then studied fashion design from Parsons School of Design. She most recently worked as a designer for the Ronni Nicole Group. Elaine plans to open a Bridal Salon back home in the Philippines.

GLORIA (SEGOVIA, SPAIN) Couture Techniques Intern 

Gloria  studied law and business administration in her native MAdrid where she worked as a lawyer. After planning her own wedding Gloria fell in love with all things Bridal.   She moved to Cuba where she worked at a resort as a wedding planner. She now divides her time between interning with a Wedding Planner and doing amazing handwork and beading in our studio.
